Copenhagen Film Festival to show ‘A Woman without a Name’

Iranian documentary ‘A Woman without a Name’ has been selected to compete at the 2018 edition of the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (CPH:DOX) in Denmark.

Made by Farzad Khoshdast, the Iranian film is nominated to compete with nine other titles from countries such as Austria, the US, Germany, Norway, Canada, Ireland and Russia at the F:ACT Award section.

F:ACT Award is dedicated to films in the field between documentary filmmaking and investigative journalism.

This year, the films nominated in the prestigious competition, consist of four World Premieres, five International Premieres and one European Premiere.

The winner of F:ACT Award will be found by a jury and announced at the CPH:DOX Award Ceremony on March 23 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg.

‘A Woman without a Name’ centers on four young women who share their stories from behind the bars.

Founded in 2003, the CPH:DOX is supported by film professionals as well as the national press to grow from 14,000 admissions in its first year to a record-breaking total of 97,500 admissions in 2017.

The CPH:DOX continues to develop and expand, presenting a program that ranges from the works of major international directors to new talent, from large-scale theatrical releases to film/video works in the field between cinema and visual art.

The program goes beyond traditional boundaries between disciplines and media, offering perspectives on creative crossovers between cinema, television and media art.

This edition of the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, one of the largest documentary film festivals in the world, is slated for March 15-25, 2018, in the Danish capital.
